Choose the app
Open Blocks and select Instagram.
Keep Messages open
Under What closes, choose Video feeds, then Reels. Reels closes; Messages stays available. Optionally choose Hide Reels on Home to cover video posts while keeping the Home feed open. This cover does not guarantee silent audio on every route.
Keep Reels closed
Choose Nothing, then tap Save.
Prefer a daily allowance?

Time counts while you use Reels. Blocking resumes when your allowance runs out.
Reels still opening?
Follow the blocking checklist to check service access, saved settings and remaining allowance. Instagram updates and different devices can affect feed detection; see the recorded app versions and known limits. Reels shared in Messages use another route that was not rechecked on the listed Instagram version.
