SWIPELESS HELP
How can we help?
Get started, understand your settings, or solve a blocking problem.
YOUR FIRST BOUNDARY
Set up your first block.
Install SwipeLess from Google Play
Once SwipeLess is available, install it from Google Play on your Android phone.
Google Play availabilitySign in and follow the introduction
Sign in first. The introduction explains the tour and phone access before you optionally set a first block. Signing in alone does not activate lifetime.
Choose one app
Follow the introduction, then choose the whole app or a verified feed such as Reels or Shorts. You can also choose Explore first and set a block later in Blocks.
Choose its time
Keep it closed, allow daily minutes or choose a few short turns.
Review and save
Check what closes and the time allowed, then tap Save.
Check the blocking service
After saving, follow the in-app service check and open Android Accessibility settings if asked. The setup tells you whether your block is saved and the service is running. Explore the introduction.
Got a code from SwipeLess?
After the introduction, phone-access steps and optional first block, this question appears only if the server confirms the code campaign is available and your account does not already have active Lifetime access. If the campaign is off, the device is offline or the server cannot confirm availability, setup continues without the optional question. Choose Enter my code to open the field, or skip with No code · Start. An account with active lifetime and a repeated tour skip this first-start question. Only verified activation can show the lifetime welcome. Preview the code question.

“The unexamined life is not worth living.”
— Socrates
What this means
In Plato’s account of his trial, Socrates refuses to imagine a worthwhile life without examining himself and others. The passage asks whether our way of living can withstand serious questioning.
Plato, Apology 38a

CHECK THE BASICS
Blocking not working as expected?
Is blocking access on?
SwipeLess needs Android Accessibility access to recognise and block supported feeds.
Is your boundary saved?
Check the app, blocking choice and allowance under Blocks. Tap Save after changing a boundary.
Is the feed supported?
Check the app versions and known limits. Social app updates, feed routes and devices can affect detection.

Blocking questions
Can I block Instagram Reels and keep Messages available?
Yes. In Blocks, choose Instagram. Under What closes, select Video feeds, then choose Reels: Reels closes while Messages and the rest of Instagram stay available.
Choose Nothing to keep Reels closed, or Minutes a day or A few short turns for an allowance. Tap Save. Try these settings in the demo.
What can SwipeLess block?
Block supported feeds in Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and X, or close a whole app. TikTok and Threads offer whole-app blocking or an allowance; neither offers the regular separate feed-only choice. Blocks also lets you choose other installed apps and add websites. Check the app and feed list. Hide Reels on Home, Videos in feed and Videos in timeline cover only selected videos, leaving the surrounding feed open. Audio and detection may vary by route and device.
How do daily minutes and short turns work?
Minutes a day gives the chosen app or feed a daily allowance. A few short turns gives it a limited number of brief visits.
Time counts while you are actually using that part. When your allowance runs out, blocking resumes.
Can I change a boundary?
You can make a setting stricter at any time. Making it looser is allowed once every 7 days per app or website. Work and Schedules remain independently editable.
You remain in control of Android’s accessibility settings and can uninstall SwipeLess.
Will every feed block always work?
Feed detection can change when a social app changes. An update, another route into a feed or a different device can affect partial blocking.
SwipeLess includes detection checks to help you notice when a block may need attention. If it does, send feedback with the affected app and phone model.
Can I block websites as well?
Yes. In Blocks, open Websites and add a domain or link, then choose a block or allowance. Selected app rules also cover their recognised web versions.
Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, Edge, Opera and DuckDuckGo are listed as tested in the app. Brave has not been verified yet. Other versions, installed web apps and browsers inside other apps may behave differently. Read the website guide.
Can I close only TikTok For You?
New TikTok settings offer whole-app blocking or an allowance for the whole app. The current app treats TikTok as an all-feed app; it does not offer the regular partial-feed choice available for Reels or Shorts. An older partial setting can be kept until you change it.
Work mode questions
How do I start a Work mode session?
Open Work. Schedules is at the top. Choose Single session or Session with breaks, set your time, then choose targets under Apps & websites and tap Start. Free allows 30 minutes of work; breaks do not count. Longer Work and schedules are Pro features.
Notification silence is optional: choose Off or Do Not Disturb under Silence while you work. Try Work mode in the demo.
What goes quiet in Work mode?
Work and Schedules offer Off or Do Not Disturb. Do Not Disturb uses Android’s own rules and exceptions and requires its separate access. SwipeLess no longer postpones notifications from selected apps.
Can I pause or end a Work mode session?
Yes. Pause, resume, end or edit a session at any time. You can change its total work time, break plan, apps and silence without losing the work already recorded. Selected apps stay blocked during a manual pause and planned breaks. Work and schedule edits do not use the seven-day loosening rule for Blocks.
How do planned breaks work?
Choose Session with breaks and set Total work time, Work per block and Break between blocks. The clock moves between work and breaks automatically. Your selected apps stay blocked during breaks; you can start the next work block early.
Work time is 5–480 minutes. Each block must be shorter than the total work time, and work plus breaks must fit within 480 minutes. Choose Single session when you want no planned breaks.
Can Work mode start automatically?
Yes. Open Work → Schedules. Add a name, weekdays, start and end times, apps and optional silence. You can keep multiple schedules, change them, switch them off or delete them.
An end time earlier than the start runs into the next day. The chosen weekdays are the starting days. Allow scheduled alarms when prompted so transitions can run on time; schedules are restored after a phone restart. Read the schedule guide.
What happens when I edit a running session or schedule?
Worked progress and a manual pause are preserved. If you shorten a session to time already worked, it ends immediately. Changing apps does not restart the clock. Schedule edits apply to their current block; deleting a schedule ends its own block. Other schedules and Blocks settings still apply independently.
Which Work messages will I see?
A quiet ongoing notification shows the running Work session. Natural transitions can show Time for a break, Back to work or Session complete. While SwipeLess is open, these use a dialog. Outside the app, Android can show one current notification, without sound or vibration by default.
Your notification permission, channel settings and Do Not Disturb affect how it appears. Manual pauses, edits or stopping early do not create these phase messages. They are made locally on your phone.
Other questions
Can I download it on Android or iPhone?
Coming to Google Play for Android. See availability.
There is no iPhone version available through this website.
Does this website block my apps?
No. Blocking requires the installed Android app. The website preview recreates its settings, timer and content examples so you can explore the features; it does not block apps or silence notifications.
How are days and years of life calculated?
The calculator uses 16 awake hours per day and 365 days per year.
Daily scrolling minutes × 365 ÷ 60 gives hours per year. Divide those hours by 16 for days per year. Multiply the days by your chosen period, then divide by 365 for years of your life.
The grid shows one year. The projection assumes the same daily use throughout. These are time equivalents, not guaranteed savings. Open the calculator.
What does Stats measure?
With optional usage access, choose Social media, Block apps or All screen time. Stats shows a daily average for a calendar week, month, quarter or year, with Line or Bars. Comparisons use matching, fully measured days and show which days were compared. Android can count an app underneath a blocking screen.
Work time excludes planned and manual pauses. Protected time counts protection while selected apps stay blocked, so it can include pauses. Neither is proof of productivity or time saved. Understand the measurements and account backup.
Are subscriptions and codes available?
On first start, sign in and complete the introduction and phone-access steps, with an optional first block. If the server confirms the code campaign is available and Lifetime is not active, Got a code from SwipeLess? offers Enter my code or No code · Start. Accounts with active Lifetime and repeated tours skip that question. If the campaign is off, the device is offline or the server cannot confirm availability, setup continues. The code screen remains available in Settings → Subscriptions & codes. Signing in alone does not activate lifetime. The server confirms activation and saves lifetime to that account. Changing or disabling a shared code stops new activations; existing lifetime remains.
Google Play purchases are still awaiting final store configuration and purchase testing. The browser demo cannot activate a code or make a purchase.
ON YOUR DEVICE
Privacy & permissions.
SwipeLess uses Android permissions to recognise supported feeds and apply your boundaries. The permissions below explain what each type of access does.
How is screen text handled?
SwipeLess recognises selected feeds from screen structure and discards private screen text. For website rules, it temporarily compares the recognised address bar with your chosen targets; observed browsing addresses are not kept or uploaded.
Blocking observations are processed on your phone. Google or email sign-in uses Firebase. Your verified SwipeLess account can back up chosen settings, game progress and daily totals to our Cloudflare service. You can pause backup or delete your account in Settings. Read the app privacy policy for recipients, retention and recovery limits.
App privacy policy updated 3 November 2026. Read the policy or delete your account.
Website visit measurements and feedback are separate from the Android app. Read the website feedback and measurement notes.
