Work mode · Android guide

Make time
for your next task.

Choose a single session, plan work blocks with breaks, or let a weekly schedule start your protection. Keep control of your apps, time and silence.

Try Work mode

Start a session

Work has its own tab, with Schedules at the top. Free includes 30 minutes of work; breaks do not count. Longer Work sessions and Schedules are Pro features. Existing Work and schedule settings stay independently editable.

  1. Choose your apps

Open Work. Select your Apps & websites, or use Choose apps. You can run just the clock too.

  2. Choose your session

Select Single session for one timer without planned breaks. Choose 25, 45, 60 or 90 minutes, or enter your own time from 5 to 480 minutes.

For Session with breaks, set your total work time, work per block and break duration. Every work block must be shorter than your total; work plus breaks must fit within 480 minutes.

  3. Choose silence and start

Silence is optional: Off or Do Not Disturb. Tap Start.

A break stays protected

The clock automatically starts a planned break and then the next work block. Your selected apps stay blocked during breaks and manual pauses. Use the break for something else, or start the next work block early.

Change the session as your day changes

You can pause, resume, stop or edit at any time. Change total work time, the break plan, apps or silence. Time already worked is preserved. Shortening the total to time already worked ends the session immediately.

Work and schedules do not use the seven-day loosening rule from Blocks. Other blocks and overlapping schedules continue independently.

Repeat it on a schedule

Open Work → Schedules to add weekdays, start and end times, apps and silence. Keep more than one schedule, including overnight ones. Set up a recurring schedule.

What do the silence options do?

Off leaves notifications unchanged. SwipeLess no longer postpones notifications from selected apps. Work does not request notification-reading access.

Do Not Disturb follows your phone’s own exceptions and requires its own access. Check those exceptions if you need to remain reachable.

Access and permissions explained

What do the clock and messages mean?

A quiet ongoing notification shows the session. Natural transitions can show a break, the next work block or session completion. Android’s notification settings determine their appearance. Work time excludes pauses; protected time can include them. Read about the measurements.

Blocking and silence require the installed Android app. Coming to Google Play for Android. See availability.
